I teach middle school humanities using authentic, real-world projects. In other words, my students and I navigate textual analysis (of novels, plays, short stories, speeches, sermons, ads, body language, photographs, poetry) together and apply our findings to work in our community.

Are you a student? Head to our class page, Mining the Text, for all of our class resources.

Are you a parent? Click around on this site, my digital portfolio, to learn more about me and my work with your student. You can also check out our syllabus and email me anytime.

Are you a secondary history or English educator? Please feel free to use my project materials. My curriculum map is a one-stop shop for my project overviews and associated materials, or scroll through my projects page. Not sure how to implement a project in your classroom? Please contact me.
